Weekly reflection (1/2)
The email is a reminder for the user to reflect on their work week, with questions to guide the reflection process.
Good afternoon Wyatt,
It's time to reflect on the work you did this week. We've created a visualization in Sunsama showing where you spent your time.
I don't believe in shortcuts and hacks for "being more productive". Improving your productivity

Improving your productivity requires sustained practice. Taking the time to reflect and adjust your practice is the closest "shortcut" I've found to changing the rate at which you improve your focus and attention.

I want to share the questions I use to guide my weekly reflection with you and a bit about how I use them to iterate week to week.

1) Where did I spend my time? What areas took up most of my time and attention? Any surprises?
I start off by simply observing how I spent my time. This is an opportunity to reflect on unexpected challenges, interruptions or work that took longer than expected. The goal here is to understand how my week unfolded, instead of judging it.

2) Did I spend my time in a way that aligns with my long term objectives? Why or why not?
I use this question to confront the difference between my expectations and my reality. Answering this question nudges me to use my time more thoughtfully going forward. It's also a chance to be honest with myself about why I got off track.

3) How do I feel? What work was rejuvenating? What work was draining? Is this a workload I can sustain?
This question helps me re-evaluate my relationship with my work. I don’t strive for epic long workdays and flashes of prolific output. I strive to be committed and consistent in the long run while maintaining a healthy body, mind, and relationships. This is my chance to check my pace.

Best,

Ashutosh
Founder and CEO, Sunsama

--

Unsubscribe
